Mimicking a Expensive Tripod Head

I was trying to figure out a way I could replicate and expensive tripod head with things I have around my house. I started with an office chair and placed a tripod on it with the camera. I found that the camera wasn't staying still because of the cushion on the chair. so, used a belt to hold it down. I didn't have any sort of weights or sandbags lying around but they would of helped. Then my room mate pointed out that I could raise the level of the camera as I was panning with the lever on the chair.

After Effects

So it lucks out that my roommate Chris Hebert is starting to learn Adobe After Effects. We shot test clips with gun props and added some effects with the program. More to come!

The New Green Screen

Yesterday, Drew Cohoe and myself went to IKEA and bought some green fabric for the green screen. We shot a test video to see how it was going to look. The footage we got turned out alright but we didn't have such great of lighting. We are using one of the biggest rooms on the second floor of Teddy's sports bar which has been used for many Rilstone Productions shoots such as: New York Phone Call 1&2, and North Due South.

Summer's big shoot

This summer the Rilstone Productions crew will be shooting a film in Grimsby, Ontario. Currently in the writing stage; Paul Seaton, Drew Cohoe and myself have started to plan the film out. We have started to plan out locations to shoot and we have lucked out and are getting the opportunity for a street closure shoot in downtown Grimsby. The name of the project is still undecided but the main plot has been kept secret. We hope to be shooting mid August and expect the film to take 2 weeks of non-stop filming.
